Disabling the Flash Player

In Internet Explorer 6

To disable Flash in IE, you have to disable all ActiveX controls and plugins.
  1. Go into your Internet Options in the Tools menu.
  2. On the Security tab, make sure you are in the "Internet" zone, and click the Custom Level button.
  3. In the first section (ActiveX controls and plug-ins), look for the line that says "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins." It should be enabled. Select either disable (IE will not run any AcitveX) or prompt (IE will ask before running ActiveX).
  4. If you do this at school, please remember to change the browser settings back when you are done!

In Opera 8

As always, it's easier with Opera.
  1. Go to Quick Preferences in the Tools menu.
  2. Uncheck the box next to "Enable plug-ins."

In Other Browsers

I'm sure it's pretty easy to do something similar. You are smart and will figure it out.
